Tennis
Played an hour of tennis with my mum. She hasn’t played for a while so I spent a fair amount of time chasing wild shots. It was fun though, and my serve and forehands were great!

Run
Went for a run this morning. I was hoping to avoid the heat by going out before noon, but no such luck! I guess 9:30 is still late enough for it to be hot. I found this run tougher than my first one last Friday. I was very active all weekend (in fact I didn’t do anything yesterday because my legs were aching so much!) so it’s not as if I regressed in fitness or anything! I think it was mostly because the path I ran was, for the most part, much straighter than Friday’s path. For me, it’s a little disheartening to look up after 5 minutes and not have the next turn seem any closer!
I also played with running for ten minutes and walking for one, but I cheated and walked a lot more than I was supposed to. But at least I got out. The whole psyching myself up to run and then actually DOING IT is probably one of the things I’m happiest with … usually that second part doesn’t come!

Golf
Played golf with a couple of my ski coaching buddies. It was good, and I shot fairly well. Talk about hot though! I have no idea what the high was today, but man was it sweltering!

Soccer
Played soccer for 3 and a half hours with some of my friends in pretty oppressive heat. We played 3 on 3, plus goalies, on a really small field. Great for ball control! Even though it’s a small field, you still run a ton.
Today, with a round of golf in the morning and an afternoon of soccer, was just about as perfect a day as it could have been.

Golf
Had a round of golf with my dad. As always, shot much better on the back 9!

First run
Two words: it sucked.
I managed to run the first 10 minutes before having to start punctuating my running with bouts of walking (about 1 minute each) because it hurt. However, I was pretty happy that I managed to run the last 5 to 10 minutes - I was walking and realized that the reason I wasn’t running wasn’t because I was still hurting (which I consider a valid reason to walk) so much as I was just bored of running (which is not such a valid reason). So I forced myself to run the rest of the way home.
I checked it out online and I did 6km. Which I guess is really not that much, but it’s a start!

Tennis
Played tennis with my dad for an hour. He’s good with ball placement so I ended up running around quite a bit. Running is always more fun when it’s part of a sport!
